Euro 2012: Warszawa, Wrocław, Poznań, Gdańsk
Hugollek
UEFA has chosen cities in which there'll be matches played while Euro 2012. The best European teams will play in: Warszawa, Wrocław, Poznań and Gdańsk. Kraków and Chorzów which had status of reserve cities were ruled out. Ukrainian cities: Kiev, Kharkiv, Donetsk and Lviv are obliged to confirm by 30th November that they fulfil all the conditions to organize the tournament. Reserve cities: Odessa and Dnipropetrovsk were also ruled out. Michel Platini, president of the Union of European Football Associations (FIFA), thanked all cities that were ruled out.
Nevertheless, he emphasized that every Polish city had fulfilled all needed conditions, however Kraków and Chorzów had been reserve cities from the beginning. With four chosen Polish cities there were special agreements signed three years ago and that is why those cities had priority.
If Ukrainian cities do not fulfil all the conditions, then Euro 2012 will take place in four Polish and two Ukrainian cities.
