Legia interested in Aleksandar Tonev

According to some Bulgarian media, Wisła and Legia are interested in Aleksandar Tonev. Envoys of both Polish clubs were present in the match between Serbian and Bulgarian youth national teams to watch the footballer closely. Tonev is PFC CSKA Sofia’s 21-year-old offensive midfielder.


Since the very beginning of his career, Tonev has been CSKA’s player. When he was 18 years old, he joined club’s senior squad. He spent last year on a loan to OFC Sliven 2000 (Bulgarian: ОФК Сливен 2000). This season he’s appeared in 22 matches scoring a single goal. He has played in 9 games of Bulgarian youth national team being able to strike two goals.

Tonev is believed to be worth 650.000 euro at present. However, his contract with PFC CSKA Sofia expires in June 2011, so Legia would be able to gain the footballer for free. Members of Warsaw club’s board are seeking for such footballers for whom they wouldn’t have to pay the compensation price.
